Billy “Bill” Joe Broyles was born January 28, 1934, to Joesph Adam Broyles and Ethel Marie (Bolin) Broyles at home in Peace Valley, MO. He entered into eternal rest August 3, 2024, and was 90 years old.
He attended school in a one room schoolhouse in Peace Valley, MO until the eighth grade and eventually got his GED. Bill served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, and on December 3, 1962, Bill married the love of his life Mary Jane (Losh) Broyles in Miami, OK. They shared 59 years together while raising four children, Terry, Linda, Joe, and Melanie. Bill would later retire from the Mid-Am in Cabool, MO. Bill enjoyed tinkering in his shop and was known for being able to fix anything. He was an avid collector alongside his wife Mary Jane. They would often get antique collection pieces from local auctions. He was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs, MO. Bill was a member of the Willow Springs chapter of the Masonic lodge for several decades. In 2017, he received his 50-year pin from the lodge. Bill was a kind, sweet hearted man, known for his witty sense of humor. In his later years, Bill would often share stories from his childhood. He loved to sit and watch the grandchildren and later great-grandchildren play.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel; his wife, Mary Jane; his brothers, Oscar Broyles and Clifford Broyles; his sisters, Mabel Sanders, Vivian Bandy, Alta Lee Woody, Violet Sifford, and Bertie Walker.
He is survived by his four children, Melanie Hicks (Brian), Linda LeBaron (Terry), Terry Wyrick (Sandy), and Joe Wyrick; his grandchildren, Jessica Stokes (Zach), Shanica Martin (Jon), Cody Hicks (Courtney), Samantha Garcia (Rene), Melinda Vaughan (Ryan), Brent LeBaron (Jessica), Aaron Hicks (Christine), Craig Hicks (Pamela), Nikandra Loman, and Kelly Phillips (Hunter). He is further survived by 24 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Charles Losh and Stephen Losh (Violet), and sisters-in-law, Kay Losh and Betty Losh. Many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A visitation for Bill will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the funeral services immediately following with Pastor John Emery officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC.
