Bobby Joe Jackson, 80 years, 6 months, and 29 days old, passed away on January 31, 2022 at his home.
Bob was born July 2, 1941 in Reed Springs, Missouri to Eugene and Bonnie (Rantz) Jackson.
He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.
On September 8, 1964 Bob and Carlene Curry were united in marriage at Springfield, MO and they were blessed with two children, Teresa and Carl Gene.
Bob was a self employed Truck Driver and Farmer. He started working at the age of 15. He hauled fence posts all the way to North and South Dakota. Bob was fortunate to have worked for his good friend, Harold Gray for 24 years. Harold became family.
He was a Christian and attended church with Carlene when they were able. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden. He was a devoted family man and loved being with his grand and great grandchildren!
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Bill and Danny and his soon to be son-in-law, Russ Farrell.
He is survived by his wife Carlene;his children, Teresa Graham, and Carl Gene & Krista Jackson; grandchildren, Mandy, Bobbie and husband David, Sarah, Chase and wife Alyssa, Cole and Samuel; his great grandchildren, Jaren, Jaden, Isabelle, and Mavie; one sister and her husband, Linda & David Cameron;a brother and his wife Jimmy & Sharon Elder; nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and friends. He is also survived by three close friends he thought of as brothers, Bob Huskey, Ronnie Thomas, and Terry Cornelius. His grandchildren stated this about their Papa, “You think he hung the moon. I think he hung the galaxy!”
Graveside services for Bob will be Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Goodhope Cemetery, Ava, MO with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion #112. Officiating will be Thomas Holt. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
