Bobby Choat, 87, passed away on March 9, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1938 in Parma, MO to his parents, Marion and Mary Choat.
Bobby was a proud veteran who served his country with honor. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force, serving for 12 years, followed by 8 years in the National Guard. Throughout his military service, he demonstrated an unwavering dedication to his country and his fellow service members.
Following his military career, Bobby went on to become an accomplished electrician, working diligently in his field for many years. He was also a passionate ham radio operator, connecting with people all over the world.
He was married to his loving wife, Kathryn Sue Davis and together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories until her passing.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Sue Choat; and his parents, Marion and Mary Choat.
He is survived by his children, Billy Ray Choat (Kimberly) and Vicky Lynn Cowart (Ralph Jr.); 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, with service at 2 PM, on Friday, March 14, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
