Charles Donald Sell

Charles Donald Sell, 94 years, 10 months, 12 days old, passed peacefully on  January 23, 2025, at his home in Springfield, Missouri.  His wife was by his side.

Charles was born March 11, 1930, in Ava, Missouri,to James Andrew and  Florence Virginia (Goodnight) Sell.

He was a 1949 graduate of Ava High School. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran and served honorably during the Korean War.    

On August 23, 1957, Charles and Juanita Robertson were united in marriage in Bakerfield, Missouri, with both of their mother’s attending, and they were married by the Reverend Carl Willis.

He was employed with Kraft in Springfield, Missouri, as a fork lift operator. He worked there from 1954 and then retired in 1988.

He enjoyed bird hunting with his dog, Duke, and loved fishing with Juanita. In addition, he enjoyed working on the farm in Ava.  

Charles was a Christian and a member of Calvary Chapel in Springfield, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Jim.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita; his sister-in-law, Shirley Sell; number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.      

Graveside services for Charles will be Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at the Fannon Cemetery, Ava, Missouri, with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion 112 and U.S. Army. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Humphrey. Family requests memorial to Gideon’s International, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or donor’s choice.
