Doyle Ray Barnes

Doyle Ray Barnes, 70 years old, passed peacefully to Heaven on January 22, 2025, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava, Missouri.

On February 25, 1954, Doyle was born to Lorel and Mary (Bloomer) Barnes in Rome, Missouri.  On September 22, 1972, Doyle and Rosemary Halstead were united in marriage at Goodhope Church of the Nazarene, and together they have shared the last fifty two years. They were blessed with two children, Kevin and Jayme.

He attended Plainview and graduated from Ava High School in 1972.  He began working for Marvin Barnes Co., an electrical, plumbing, heating and air company.  He worked there for many years. Later he went into business 

(Leland Barnes, Inc.) with his three brothers, continuing the same line of work.  He had a total of forty-eight years in the trade upon retirement in 2021.

In early adulthood, Doyle was saved at a revival held at Goodhope Nazarene Church.  He loved attending church services there and at Highway Church of the Nazarene.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and westerns, fishing, and hunting. In his earlier years he played a lot of softball. Being with his family was very important to him, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Doyle was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a caring neighbor and friend.  He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Alvin, Leland, and  Neal; his sister Charlene Parker; brothers in law, John Parker and Jim Renne; sister in law, Kandy Barnes.

Doyle is survived by his loving wife, Rosie; a son, Kevin Barnes and his wife, Amanda, of Ava,  Missouri; a daughter  Jayme Little and her husband, Phillip, of Warrensburg, Missouri; seven  grandchildren, Clarissa, Doyle, Lily, Hunter, Sydney, Ace, and Landry; his sisters, Marilyn Renne, Lila and Bill Frye, Alesia and Steve King; sisters in law, Nancy Barnes and Bonnie Barnes; sister-in-law and husband, Jenny and Clyde Fenwick; sister-in-law, Anne Halstead; nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.      

Funeral services for Doyle will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 27, 2025, in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time.  Burial will be in the Goodhope cemetery.  Officiating will be Pastor Brian Letsinger. Memorials may be made to Goodhope Cemetery.
