Cora Anna (Townsend) Voyles was born on July 26, 1935, in Alton, Missouri, the daughter of Abbott Duley and Lizzie Margaret (Briles) Townsend. She passed away on January 10, 2025, at her home in Winona, Missouri, at the age of 89, surrounded by family and friends.
She was united in marriage on January 16, 1954, to the late Buddy Truman Voyles. To this union, they had three children Kathy, Greggory, and Donald.
Cora is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Dean) Holloway of Flemingsburg, KY; two daughters-in-law, Joann (McNew) Voyles of Rectorville, KY, and Regina Voyles of Winona, MO; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbott and Lizzie Townsend; one brother, James A. Townsend; two sisters, Lois M. Weaver and Betty Sue Tinsley; two sons, Greggory Voyles and Donald Voyles; one granddaughter, Beth; and two great-grandchildren.
Cora became a Christian at an early age, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winona, Missouri. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Tim Rolen officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
