Daniel “Danny” Lee Givans

Daniel Lee Givans, 72 years,  9 months, 11 days old, passed away on  October 1, 2024, at his home, with his family by his side.

Danny was born December 21, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, to Eldon Eugene and Hannah Louise (Russell) Givans.

 

Danny was raised in the Ava community. He graduated from Ava High School.  In 1969, Danny and Vicki Jean Huff were united in marriage in Ava and were blessed with a daughter, Laura Janeen. Vicki preceded in death in 1971 from an auto accident. 

 

In 1973, Danny and Connie Dougherty were united in marriage and were blessed with two children, Todd and Missy. They got to celebrate 50 years of marriage!

 

He was a full time mechanic, which he began at the age of 13, and in 1973 took ownership of Givans Garage, which had been in the family for prior generation. Also, he was a full-time cattle rancher and owner of Givans Charolais LLC.

       

Danny was a Christian. He enjoyed drag racing and checking on his cattle. He believed in hard work and making memories with his kids and grandchildren. Danny had a lot of pride and love for his family. He will be greatly missed.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Hannah. 

 

Danny is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Laura and Tim Stillings, Todd and Fallon Givans, and Missy Givans Skyles and Ethan Proctor; grandchildren, Austin Stillings, Ashtin Stillings, Weston & Regan Stillings, Colton Skyles, and Spencer Skyles, Braden Proctor, and Addison Proctor; his sister, Sue Godkin; his brother and wife, Don and Becky Givans; numerous nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.   

            

Graveside services for Danny will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in the Denney Cemetery on K Hwy., Ava, Missouri.  A visitation will be Friday, October 4th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri. His casket will be closed at Danny’s request. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts. Family requests donations to Denney Cemetery.
