Danny Joe Hicks was born February 19, 1963, in Cabool, Missouri, to Jackie Stults-Hicks and Carl Hicks, Jr. He passed away on December 4, 2022, in Pomona, Missouri at the age of 59 years.
He was united in marriage to Karla Hicks on March 15, 2003, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Danny Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Batesel.
He is survived by his wife, Karla of the home; father, Carl Hicks, Jr. and wife Pam of Springfield, MO; Step-dad, Jerry Gibbons of Willow Springs, MO; father and mother-in-law, Ray and LaVonne Fine of Pomona, MO; son, Joshua Hicks of Springfield, MO; niece and nephew, who he cherished as his own, MaKayla Gearhart of West Plains, MO, and Dustin (Rachael) Mulkey of Pomona, MO; brothers, Carl Wayne (Beverly) Hicks of Willow Springs, MO, and Jeff (Noelle) Hicks of Salida, CO; sister, Wendy Willard of Birch Tree, MO; grandchildren, Lawson and Audrey; nephews, Jerod (Kelsey)Hicks of Springfield, MO, Joel (Chelsea) Hicks of Springfield, MO, and Jake Wood of West Plains, MO; niece, Lindsey (Preston) Hyde of Springfield. MO; and many more great nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him.
After graduating from Willow Springs High School in 1981, Danny Joe worked for Howard Construction and later worked for Midwest Walnut for 27 years.
Danny Joe had many hobbies including playing golf, hunting, fishing, softball, and watching NASCAR and the street outlaws. He loved spending time with his dog, Hank. He was known to tell a few stories, some of which MAY have been stretched out a little.
