David Lore Hobbs, 61, of Arkansas, tragically passed away in a car accident on December 19, 2024. His life was a testament to love, generosity, and creativity. David’s greatest pride and joy was being “Papa” to his beloved granddaughter, Nellee Nix. Their bond was unshakable as they eagerly counted down the days until their next visit.
He was an exceptional father, father-in-law, brother, uncle, and friend. David had a heart that gave freely to anyone in need, offering his help and even the shirt off his back without hesitation. Despite not having much, he always ensured that those around him felt supported and loved.
David had a heart of gold and a knack for finding humor in life, always ready to tell a joke—appropriate or not—just to bring a smile to someone’s face. He believed that working hard on things that brought no joy was a thief of life, and he lived with a passion for the things and people he loved most.
A true jack-of-all-trades, David was a man of many talents. He was an artist, a passionate lover of music, and a lifelong car enthusiast who poured his skills into his work as a mechanic. His creativity and hands-on approach left an enduring impression on all who knew him.
David is survived by his daughter, Krista Nix; son-in-law, Justin Nix; and granddaughter, Nellee Nix; one sister, Amanda Hobbs; brothers, Randy Hobbs and Joe Hobbs; sister-in-law, Donna Hobbs; and nieces and nephews: Brandi Hobbs, Michelle Hobbs, Melissa Hobbs, Tylor Combs, Jacob Hobbs, Lauren Hobbs, Melody Hobbs, Zachary Hobbs, Jocelynn Diehl, Ashton Powers, and Kingston Hobbs. He will be deeply missed by countless extended family members and dear friends who cherished his presence in their lives.
David is reunited in peace with his parents, Glenda Yeazel and William (Bill) Hobbs; sister, Ruth Ann; two brothers, Glenn David and Gregory Hobbs; and many others who passed before him. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A private service to celebrate David’s life will be held at his daughter’s farm at 7155 Kingston Road, Fairview, TN 37062 at a later date for close family. Flowers could be ordered and delivered from Holman Flower Shop, 1758 Fairview Blvd, Fairview, TN. For those who wish to honor his memory, the family warmly encourages memorials to be held in his name, as any celebration of David’s life is a tribute of love.
In lieu of flowers, David’s granddaughter, Nellee, cherished writing letters to her Papa and receiving his heartfelt responses. In his memory, the family invites you to send letters or heartfelt gifts to Nellee ( they referred to each other in true David fashion as Poop Jr. and Poop Sr. ), which will be lovingly included with a concrete bench being placed in their favorite spot on the farm—a lasting tribute to the bond they shared.
