Funeral Services for Roger Dale Walls, Age 58 of Mountain View, Missouri will be held on Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at The Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, beginning at 11:00 AM. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place in The New Salem Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri.
Roger Dale Walls passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at his home in Mountain View, Missouri, and went on to be with his Lord and Savior after a long battle with cancer. Roger was born in Grenada, Mississippi, on November 8, 1967, to James David Walls, Sr. and Linda Faye (née Pickle) Walls. Roger married Judy Leanne (née Adkins) on November 14, 2003, at Live Oak Church in Watson, Louisiana.
Roger is survived by his wife, Leanne Walls; one son, Nicholas Fielding of Mountain View, MO; four daughters, Brandi Johnston of Pomona, MO, Sherry Johnston of Henderson, KY, Jennifer Johnston of Peace Valley, MO, and Cheyenne Thurman of Evansville, IN; one sister, Teresa Bankston and husband, David of Denham Springs, LA; two brothers, Jimmy Walls and wife, Tammie of Denham Springs, LA, and Robert Walls and wife, Lisa of Pearl, MS; eight grandchildren; his parents-in-law, George and Louise Smith of Mountain View, MO; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte Collins and husband, James of West Plains, MO, and Rhonda Blackburn-Myers of Pineville, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many other extended family members and friends who were all touched by his kindness and warmth.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James David Walls, Sr. and Linda Faye Walls; his brother, Thomas Walls; and his grandparents, Connie Lee and Winnie Lee Smith Pickle, John W. Walls, Sr., and Rose Walls Lassett.
Roger was actively involved in his church, enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his family and friends, barbecuing, and he loved selling watermelons with his father-in-law. He also enjoyed many other outdoor activities, including working on his tractor, doing gardening, or plowing snow for the church when needed. Roger was a passionate fan of the “Ole Miss Rebels” (University of Mississippi) and loved going to his family reunions in Mississippi, so he could visit with his relatives who reside there.
