Delmer Almy Caudill

Delmer Caudill, 86 years, 11 months, and 23 days old, passed away on April 13, 2024 at his home around midnight with his children by his side and his dog, Peppy, his companion.

Delmer was born April 21, 1937 in Douglas County, MO to Orbin and Mary Elizabeth (Britton) Caudill.

On September 1, 1958 Delmer and Annette Ludwig were united in marriage  at Norwood, MO and together were blessed with four children. Delmer and Annette were married for 39 years at the time of her passing in 1998. 

Delmer was also a truck driver for 25 years, traveling from coast to coast. He was a prominent auto mechanic in Ava up until his retirement. Delmer devoted his free time fishing with his family and hunting year round every season. He was an avid outdoorsman. Every January 1st he fished at Liner Point to catch walleye. Delmer had an adventurous life and he would tell you, β€œHe did it all.”

Delmer was saved as a young boy in the Baptist faith. He knew his Maker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Tonya Ann Caudill Titus.  

Delmer is survived by his children, Aaron Caudill, Trudy Lynn Gunkel, Tamara Jo Caudill, Delma L. Brammer, and Leon Noland; four grandchildren, Natasha, Gavin, Toby, and Ben; five great grandchildren and one-on-the-way in three weeks; one brother, Leon Caudill; other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to his only granddaughter, Natasha, who was by his side in his final years offering love, time, and any assistance he ever needed. He was very appreciative. Delmer was anxiously anticipating the arrival of her child due in three weeks, his great grandson, Miles Xavier Jones. 

Graveside services for Delmer will be Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.  in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
