Don Edwin Stanley was born the son of Luther and Nancy Stanley (Whitten) on June 20, 1945 in Alton, Missouri and went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2024. Don graduated from Licking High School in Licking, MO where he played basketball and baseball. He attended Northeast Missouri State from 1963-1967 and served in the 82nd Infantry of the U.S. Army from 1967-1969 during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his career in the family grocery store business from 1969-2003. He ended his career at Mueller Yurgae Associates. Don loved showing his Tennessee Walking Horses, driving the scenic roads, especially through the Hardy Hills in Arkansas, and spending time with his family. He loved his hobby farm which included horses, cows, and sheep. Basketball, bowling, and golf were his sports passions. He loved watching and coaching the kids play basketball in school. Don always had a big smile on his face. Don is survived by his daughter, Donna Lynn Gray and husband Donnie Gray; Fiancé, Donna Wade-Fiebelman; bonus daughter, Kimberly Fiebelman Clark and husband Jay Clark; stepchildren, Russ Gant, Christina Harris, and Lori Blount; grandchildren, Daulton and Courtney Ray, Brentnee Miller, Audrey and Kaylee Mankin, Jason and Amy Gray, and bonus grandchild, Eli Clark; as well as nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father, Luther Stanley; mother, Nancy Stanley (Whitten); and brothers, Glen and Dale Stanley. Don’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, with a visitation at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 227 S Main St., Licking. A graveside service will follow at 12:15 PM at Boone Creek Cemetery. A lunch will be served following the graveside at the First Baptist Church.
