Maudie Stewart Steele, 86, (a previous resident of Hardy, Arkansas) passed away July 23, 2024 at Willowbend Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Marion, Arkansas. She was born September 1, 1937 in Marked Tree to Thomas and Vester Harp Stewart. She had worked as a self-employed merchant and enjoyed spending time with her family. Maudie was a member of the Church of God in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Survivors include her son, Mike Steele and his wife Barbara; a daughter-in-law, Shelia; five grandchildren: Michael, Morgan, Peyton, Anna Paige, and Jeremy; four great-grandchildren: Remington, Caliber, Motley, and Charlotte; two brothers, Tommy and Danny; four sisters: Betty, T. J., Shirley, and Ann; many other relatives and good friends.
Maudie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Joyce and Kathy; and a son, Toby.
Services will be Tuesday, July 30 at the Assembly of God, 513 N. Missouri St. in West Memphis. Visitation of family and friends will begin at 1 p.m. with the funeral to start at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Crittenden Memorial Park Mausoleum at Marion.
