Don Leroy Walker was born December 6th, 1933 in Souder, Missouri, to Charles and Frankie (Rowlett) Walker. He passed away September 15th, 2022, at his home south of Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 88.
Don married Carole Hightower on November 8, 1952, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They were to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on November 8th, 2022.
Don and Carole opened a television repair shop in 1957. They later added other electronics, video rental, appliances and furniture to their store. They ran the store in Mountain Grove for more than 40 years before retiring in 1998.
For many years Don and Carole enjoyed traveling with family and friends, farming, fishing and listening to bluegrass music. Don had a green thumb and was well-known for his large roadside garden. His family and friends will long remember his non-stop sense of humor and love of practical jokes.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Paul Walker; two sisters, Ruby Yates and Glenda Lee; three half-brothers, Ray, Rex and Lee Hurst and two grandsons, Corey and Jake Spiva.
Don is survived by his wife, Carole of the home; two daughters, Charlotte Spiva of Mountain Grove and Judy Killingsworth (John) of Rogersville, Missouri; one sister, Ruth Lindsey (Doyal) of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Hillary Mumaw (Tim) of Mountain Grove and Nathan Amos of Rogersville, Missouri, and four great-grandchildren Gavin, Talan and Brynn Amos and Hazel Mumaw.
