Donna Carol (Brame) Climer was born December 6, 1941, in Van Buren, Missouri, to Everett Anthony and Alsie Belle (Chilton) Brame. Donna went to live with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her parents, husband, Bobby, son, Darryl, and brother, David, on April 26, 2023. She had attained the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 20 days.
Donna attended Van Buren High School and was a member of the 1959 Graduating Class. She went on to attend college at the Springfield Business College. On May 21st, 1961, Donna was united in marriage to Bobby Harold Climer in Van Buren, Missouri. To this union three boys were born, Harold Dean, Darryl Eugene and Roy David Anthony.
She was saved at an early age in Carter County, Missouri, and attended Liberty Baptist Church and later the Assemblies of God Church in Van Buren. Donna was later baptized in Wright County, Missouri, and was a member of Lead Hill Community Church and attended until her health would not allow it.
Donna worked at the Van Buren Drug Store, Springfield Business College, Van Buren School District and Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield. She assisted Bobby with the management and showing of Devon Cattle for Dr. Kubitschek before moving to Mansfield. When Bobby’s health wouldn’t allow him to work a traditional job, he and Donna started Climer’s Vending which they owned and operated for approximately seventeen years.
She had a love for Southern Gospel and Bluegrass music. When she was younger, Donna loved traveling with her parents while her dad sang with the Brame Quartet. She also loved going to the Bluegrass Festivals with one of her best friends and partner in crime, JoAnn Sanders-Carter. She was a charter member of the Mansfield Area Historical Society and Museum and held several positions within the organization, a board member of the Gresham Cemetery where she served as Secretary/Treasurer and was involved in many organizations in the Mansfield area.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Bobby Harold, her parents, Everett and Alsie Belle, a son, Darryl Eugene, brother, David Leon Brame, brothers-in-law, Bert, Dow, Leroy, Floyd, Clyde Dale and Kenny, and sisters-in-law, Nadeen Klingensmith, Ilene Pearman, Pauline Keith, and Darlene Newton-Hatcher
She is survived by son, Harold Dean Climer and wife, Beth of Mountain Grove, daughter-in-law, Janet Climer of Lebanon, Missouri, son, Roy David Anthony Climer of Springfield, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Amelia Rowe and husband, Joey, of Atlantic, Iowa, Christopher Roach and wife, Emily, of Salem, Missouri, Dylan Roach and wife, Andrea, of Salem, Missouri, Anthony “Tony” Climer and wife, Britney, of Lebanon, Missouri, Matthew Climer of Springfield, Missouri, Casey Climer and her significant other, Eastton Middleton, of Hartville, Missouri, and Noah Climer and his mother, Anita Baker, of Springfield, Missouri, six great grandchildren, Joslyn and Emma Rowe of Atlantic, Iowa, Remington Roach of Salem, Missouri, Kentley Roach of Salem, Missouri, Izabella and Houstton Middleton, of Hartville, Missouri, best friend and sister, JoAnn Sanders-Carter and husband, Junior, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, sister-in-law, Shirley Garrison of Battlefield, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
