Donna Jean (Montgomery) Foster

Donna Jean (Montgomery) Foster, 76, of Sturkie, Arkansas, was born in Elizabeth, Arkansas on July 21, 1947, daughter of Vernon William Montgomery and Lezene (Reynolds) Montgomery. Donna passed from this life on March 23, 2024, at her home of 48 years in Sturkie, Arkansas. She passed peacefully in the loving care of her daughters and sister. 
  
Donna was united in marriage to James “Larry” Foster on October 31, 1964, in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Donna was a dedicated and faithful wife who took pride in being a homemaker, tending to their farm, their animals, and caring for her children. Donna was of Christian faith after giving her life to Jesus Christ and obediently following in baptism. Donna was a witty, feisty, private woman who kept an immaculate house. Donna was a loyal and trusted friend and enjoyed talking on the phone for hours. Donna was an avid reader, enjoyed needlework, and tending to her flowers. Donna loved all music, watching scary movies, and she could tell the best ghost stories. Donna was also the family historian. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. 

 Donna is survived by two daughters, Amy Lezene Smithee (Josh) of Salem, Arkansas and Jamie LeAnn Foster (Chad) of Viola, Arkansas; sister, Cindy Ann Temple of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Emily Casey, Maggie Shelton (Sean), Nicole Walker (Reece), and Lynnsey Foster; two great grandchildren, Ellie and Bennett Shelton; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband (Larry Foster), parents, brother-in-law (Dr. Greg Temple), and two sisters-in-laws (Bea Young and Mary Lou Conrow).

Priority Pet Care

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro—Josh Smithee officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of service Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. There will be a private burial at Elizabeth Cemetery later. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry in Salem, Arkansas or to the Elizabeth Cemetery Fund in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
