Elbert Cleve Gee, 62, of Birch Tree, Missouri departed this life for his heavenly home on Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born on October 30, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Theodore and Vida (Graves) Gee.
Everybody loved Elbert. He had a pleasant disposition and enjoyed teasing his friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Elbert was united in marriage to Marilyn Eileen Foster on December 8, 2001. They were married by Marilyn’s dad, Hank Foster, on the family farm in Birch Tree, Missouri.
His parents, Theodore and Vida Gee preceded him in death.
Those he leaves behind are his wife, Marilyn; three brothers, Tom Gee of Oregon, Charlie Gee and wife, Faye of Dexter, MO, Ted Gee and wife, Trish of Bernie, MO; three sisters, Grace Long and husband, Hughie of Dexter, MO, Betty Green and husband, Ken of Dexter, MO and Mary Kay McIver and husband, Jerry of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elbert attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree, Missouri. He was a registered nurse and worked for many years at the Kansas State Prison, in Lansing, KS. He enjoyed eating at good restaurants and watching old movies at home with his wife.
Elbert’s favorite poem was “Footprints in the Sand.” The end of the poem says, “The Lord replied, ‘My child, I would never leave you. During your times of trial, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.’”
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, July 26, 2020, at 3:00 pm, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree. Another celebration of Elbert’s life will be held in Dexter, MO, at a later date.
