Funeral Services for Elberta Bertie Judd, Age 86 of West Plains, Missouri will be held on Friday, August 21st, 2026 at The First Christian Church, West Plains, Missouri, beginning at 10:00 AM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 9:00 AM. Burial will take place in The Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Plains, Missouri.

Elberta Sue (Bertie) Judd, a lifelong resident of West Plains, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, at Ozarks Healthcare following a brief illness.
Born on July 9, 1940, in West Plains, she was the daughter of Elbert and Mildred (Patillo) Amyx. Bertie graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1958. On July 26, 1959, she married the love of her life, Larry Judd, in West Plains. Together, they shared a happy life and recently celebrated 67 years of marriage. Bertie, a familiar face to many in the community, spent 21 years working for her family’s business, Amyx Dairy. She later dedicated 27 years of service to WIC and the Howell County Health Department, where she retired as the financial officer in 2007. A woman of faith, she was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church. Known for her quick and dry wit, Bertie brought joy and laughter to everyone around her; time spent in her presence was always a happy time. She was an incredibly talented painter who expressed her creativity through oils and later acrylic paints. She loved to surprise family and friends with personal gifts of her artwork, including portraits of loved ones, special pets, pumpkins and Santas and more. Even when macular degeneration began to claim her vision, her resilient spirit shone through; she continued to paint for as long as possible, jokingly telling everyone she would simply transition to painting abstracts. Bertie cherished her family above all else. Her famous peanut butter fudge was a beloved Christmas staple that everyone looked forward to each year. She loved her time boating, camping and relaxing at the lake with her husband, family, and friends. She also held a deep affection for their little Yorkie, Bubba, and she and Larry were heartbroken by his passing last year.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Judd; son, Tab Judd (Kip Altstaetter) of Houston, Texas; sister, Ginger Amyx Briscoe; brother-in-law, Rick Judd (Rachel); sister-in-law, Faye Judd; nieces and nephews. Melissa Amyx Wharton (Charlie); Amy Petrus (Darren); Eric Judd (DeAun); Kevin Judd, all of West Plains; Jason Judd (Ashlie), Warsaw; Ryan Judd (Tina), Blue Springs; and Kathy Judd; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her parents, mother and father-in-law, brother-in laws Bill Briscoe, Ronnie Judd, and Bill Judd precede her in death.
