Esley Vann Mitchell

Esley Vann Mitchell, 70 years, 10 months, and 17 days old, passed away on July 26, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri with his family by his side.

Vann was born September 9, 1951 in Gobler, Missouri to William Esley   and Edith (Harlen) Mitchell.

He was a Veteran and served in the U.S. Army.  Vann was a Christian and was baptized in the General Baptist faith.

On February 17, 2002, Vann and Linda Bacorn were united in marriage in Forsyth, Missouri.

Vann enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.  He liked to craft miniature houses and barns for them and loved traveling to watch them play for the Ava Bears.  Vann was a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and St. Louis Cardinals.  He also enjoyed skeet shooting and playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Erma Snaleker; three brothers in law; two nephews.

Vann is survived by his wife, Linda; children,Tiffani Mitchell and Missi Kibelbek of Baltimore, Maryland,  Noel Dye and Brenda, Mindy Shufelt and Scott ,Brandy Harvill and Michael, Becky Lakey and Brad; grandchildren, Nicholas, Randi, Daxton, Dalton, Jess, Hope, Talon, Lauren, Zach, Blayne, Hunter, Harper, Ella, and Maci; great grandchildren, Ally, Kameron, Kaeley, and Ellie;his sisters, Faye Phillips of Forsyth,Missouri, Bonnie Schanda and Ed of Forsyth, Missouri,  Glenda Coleman of Hornersville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral services for Vann will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 and U.S. Army.  Visitation will be Saturday prior to the service at 9:00 A.M.  Officiating will be Pastor Chance Dry and Pastor James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Southwest Missouri.
