GEORGE OWEN CROWDER

George Owen Crowder was born December 16, 1954, in Cary, North Carolina, to James and Elizabeth (Waldo) Crowder. He departed this life on February 24, 2025, at his home in Willow Springs, Missouri, at the age of 70.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Crowder; son, Michael James LaCaze; and brother, Jimmy Crowder.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Diane Crowder, Trinity Lynn Rubin, Brittany Nichole Ward, Kayla Marie Collins, and Noah Owen Crowder; grandchildren, Kelly, Mason, and Liam Rubin, Maddison, Wayne, and Rylee Ward, Jace and Jaden Collins, and Waylon, Clayton, and Korbin Crowder; and sister, Frances Ladd.

George proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years. He worked at Smith Flooring for 25 years. He loved working with his hands on cars, woodworking, sewing and just piddling. He loved his grandkids and was an awesome Papaw. He lived for his grandkids. He loved animals and wildlife, but he was especially fond of his dogs, Scout and Sissy, they were like his children. His claim to fame was beating Richard Petty in a street race.

Although George is no longer with us physically, his spirit will forever remain a beacon of love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his loved ones find comfort in the cherished memories they hold dear.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri, with Pastor David Lovan officiating.
