Gifford “Blaine” Conrad, age 91, of Alton MO, was born October 5th, 1931, in Home Camp, PA, to Don and Mildred Conrad, and passed away April 15th, 2023, at NHC in West Plains MO. Blaine was united in marriage on August 31st, 1952 to Nancy Lee Bailey.
Blaine is survived by: a son, Wesley B. Conrad, and his wife Tena Ann Conrad of Alton MO; and one daughter, Jandele Sue Palmer of Alton MO; along with four grandkids, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Blaine was preceded in death by: his parents, Don and Mildred Conrad; his wife, Nancy Lee Conrad; one brother, Willard “Glen” Conrad; two sisters, Ester “Bobby” Brunnquell, and Shirley Conrad.
He was an Airforce Veteran, who served during the Korean War. Blaine completed draftsmen training and went on to design air compressors for Ingersoll Rand in the early 1960s. He then moved to Denver Colorado as a draftsman to work for Sterns-Rogers Engineering Corporation. Blaine retired from Central Ozark Machine in Alton, MO, as a Quality Control Inspector.
Blaine was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed reading Westerns, woodworking, walking, fishing, along with studying his bible. Blaine was a very talented, caring individual that could repair or build anything. Blaine always took great pride in his workmanship. Blaine will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
