Glen Dale Boland, 87, of Thornfield, MO died peacefully on January 28, 2025 at his residence with his daughters and son-in-law by his side. He was born September 9, 1937 in Minnith, MO to Gussie and Eula (Counts) Boland.
Glen was united in marriage to Zelda Lee Abell on September 11, 1955. Glen owned a cash register business in Florida before moving to the Ozarks to retire. He then went to work for Ozark County Road & Bridge Department, where he worked for 10 more years before retiring again. He also worked on Caney Mountain construction until completion, then retired….Finally!
Glen loved fishing, driving his tractor, airplanes, his family, and his dog, Lily. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by daughters Tammy Massel of Thornfield, MO and Mary and Robert Olson of Two Rivers, WI; grandchildren: Glenn & Ashley Olson, Cody & Brittney Goodwin, Amy Olson, Jason & Kendra Massel; great grandchildren Hailey Olson, Finley Olson, Abel, Tyler, Ethan & Brody Goodwin, Logan, McKenzie, Paige Massel; nephew Carl Boland; and niece Lori Roth.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gussie and Eula Boland; his wife Zelda Boland; great granddaughter Avery Elizabeth Goodwin; and his dog, Lily.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Oak Grove Church, Wasola, MO. Officiating will be David Tolliver. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
