James Allen Potter, 62 years, 4 months, and 28 days old, passed away on January 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
On August 29, 1962, James was born to James Orvil and Effie (Porter) Potter.
James’ biggest passion in life was his family, horses, his cows, and bluegrass music. He treasured his annual prairie dog hunting trips with best friends, Dave Meier and Gary Jackson, and family in the Dakotas. He loved making memories while deer hunting with friends and loved ones. He had a passion for playing bluegrass music and loved to sit around jam sessions for hours at a time. James loved his family and was very proud of his kids and grandkids.
James and Tina Waters were united in marriage on January 30, 1982 in Squires, Missouri.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jamie Potter; five rainbow babies; his brothers, Ed Potter, Donald Potter, and Leonard Potter; two brother-in-laws, Lonnie Atchison and Ronnie Pinckney; two sister-in-laws, Wilda Potter and Dee Potter; and his father-in-law, Dave Meier.
He is survived by his wife, Tina; his children Dustin Potter, and Derek (Brittany) Potter; daughter-in-law, Charis Todd; grandchildren, Payge, James Trey, Riley, Brystol, Greyson, Luke, Leiyona, and Adaleigh; his siblings, Robert (Kathy) Potter, Leon (Jane) Potter, Ronald (Brenda) Potter, Paul (Pam) Potter, Doris (Steven) Baten, Margie (Ray) Dobbs, and Pearl Atchison; mother-in-law, Janice Meier, and many other relatives and friends.
According to James’ wishes cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, Missouri.
