Glendola Marie (Shoemaker) McAfee was born September 8, 1938, to Floyd Joseph and Evelyn (Baugher) Shoemaker in Winona, Missouri. She departed this life on June 9, 2026, in Van Buren, Missouri, at Riverways Manor.
Glendola married Wilber McAfee on September 15, 1956, in Hernando, Mississippi. From this union, four children were born: Jimmy, Donny, Linda, and Gary.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy and Donny, and daughter, Linda, all of Winona, Missouri. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her grandchildren, Lori, April, Tabitha, Lacey, Josh, Amy, Shelby, Garrett, Dustin, Cindy, Tonya, and Kenny; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Charity, Abigail, Alexis, Wesley, Jace, Kaleb, Colby, and Korey; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Esa Mae, Nova, Daxton, and Clayton; two sisters, Nettie (Jim) Goodwin of Lucedale, MS, and Marsha Bourland of West Plains, MO; and one brother, Danny (Susan) of New Douglas, Il.
Glendola is preceded in death by her husband, Wilber; one son, Gary; great-granddaughters, Allison and Jessica; sisters, Louise, Ella Mae, Berniece, Wilma, Edna, Judy, Debbie, and Tressa; and brothers, Junior, James, Jimmy, Kenny, and Ronny.
Glendola was a very good cook; she enjoyed cooking big holiday dinners for her family. She liked to go camping and fishing in her younger years, and to play cards or aggravation with her friends, Opal and Dale. She didn’t give Wilber a chance; she usually beat him, and we heard about it, not from her, from him. Those cards and marbles would go flying. And let’s not forget about shopping, she always looked for a reason to go to Walmart.
Glendola and Wilber were baptized on July 22, 1979, in Delaware. They attended church at several different churches.
She will be and is already missed by her family and friends. Miss you big, Mom.
