Graveside Services for Lena Bernice Smith, Age 90 of Hardy, Arkansas will take place on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 in The Perry Cemetery, Hardy, Arkansas. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at The Carter Funeral Home Chapel, Thayer, Missouri from 5:00-7:00 PM.
Bernece (Baldridge) Smith, 90, of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away on June 9, 2026, at her home of Hardy surrounded by loved ones. Bernece was born February 12, 1936, in Hardy, Arkansas, to Van Baldridge and Elsie (Oakes) Baldridge.
Bernece married her beloved husband, Jack Eugene Smith, on October 19, 1955, in Hardy, Arkansas. From their union they welcomed two children, Chris and Donna Smith. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, being out in her garden, and sewing.
Bernece is survived by her husband, Jack Smith; her son, Chris (Sherri) Smith; her daughter, Donna Smith; her sister, Bernetta Traw; her brother Everette (Betty) Baldridge; her grandchildren, Joshua Jared, Amanda Smith, and Will Forrest; her 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bernece was preceded by her parents, Van and Elsie Baldridge; her brother, Lemuel (Mary) Baldridge; and her brother-in-law, Troy Traw.
