Gustava M. Porter, 91 years and 8 months old, was called home by her Heavenly Father on July 11, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Gustava was born November 11, 1930 in Girdner, MO to William Harvey and Dora Ethel (McBride) Moore.
On November 11, 1951, Gustava and Arthur Porter were united in marriage by Rev. Sam Daniels in his home in Wasola, Missouri and to this union one daughter, Beth Ann was born in 1964.
Gustava’s childhood dream was to have an orphanage, but she was able to share her love of caring for children by opening an in home Day Care in Seymour, MO where she cared for 72 children for over 30 years.
Gustava was converted at an early age through her faith in Jesus and lived her life according to the Word of her Heavenly Father. She enjoyed singing gospel music with the Girdner Quartet, and Gustava is now singing with her family and friends in Heaven, and awaits the arrival of her loved ones!
Gustava was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Dora Moore, her husband Arthur, her two sisters; Fern Kruse and Velma Eddings and her brother-in-law, Freeman Porter.
She is survived by her daughter Beth Ann Porter and one grandson Silas Henry Porter both of Seymour, MO, her sister, Virginia Pauline Brooke of Ava, MO and her children, Roger Brooke and Stephanie Brooke Corder and husband, Jeff, and Mary Brooke, nephews, William, Larry and Mike Eddings, niece, Dalene Kruse, a sister-in-law, Sybil Porter Gheer and her daughter and husband, Jena and Jerry Moyer of Ava, MO and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Gustava will be Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Dobbs Cemetery east of Ava. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Clinkingbeards. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Vinson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Muscular Dystrophy.
