William “Pete” Harold Lawrence

William Harold Lawrence, 87 years, 8 months, and 9 days old, passed away on July 11, 2022 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.

William Harold “Pete” Lawrence was born November 2, 1934 in Foil, Missouri to Ran and Esther (Buffett) Lawrence.

William “Pete” and JoAnn Hodges were united in marriage on November 21, 1971.

Pete enjoyed farming, cattle and music festivals.  He enjoyed all his grandchildren and the time spent with them.  Pete was saved and baptized at Black Oak Church.

Pete is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of the home; two daughters, Ronda and husband, Jeff Elliott of Ava and Debbie and husband, Gary Snelson of Gainesville; five grandchildren, Randi (Snelson) and husband, Justin Hubbard of Hardenville, Joseph Elliott and wife, Amanda of Everton, Arkansas, Dustin Snelson and wife, Shanna of Gainesville, Billy Snelson and wife, Jessica of Sparta, and Caitlin (Elliott) and husband, Clay Warrick of Nixa; twelve great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Annabell, Wilder Snelson, Kaleb, Karson, Kaden and Kole Hubbard, Liam and Brea Snelson, Owen and Willow Elliott and Isla Warrick; two great-great-grandchildren, Jolene and Keetin Hubbard; brother and sister-in-laws, George and Marian Roberts of Ava, Glen and Karen Hodges of Mansfield, Wanda Sue Miller of Mansfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his father, Ran Lawrence; mother, Esther, and step-father, Olen Pilant; three brother-in-laws, Tom Miller, Lawrence Heatherly and Paul Clouse; two sister-in-laws, Naomi Clouse and Nadine Heatherly and father and mother-in-law, Thetus and Leona (Humbyrd) Hodges.

Funeral services for Pete will be Friday, July 15 at 3:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel, Ava, MO with burial to follow in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Dale Roberts. Memorials may be made to Piland Youth Camp.  Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc., Ava, MO.
