Irene Corp, 98, of Tecumseh, MO passed away November 13, 2024 at Care Manor Nursing Home, Mtn Home, AR. She was born August 19, 1926 in Catoosa, OK to Jim and Birdie (Hodges) Wilson.
Irene married Isom Corp December 3, 1944. He preceded her in death November 13, 1977. Irene drove a school bus for the Gainesville R-5 School District for 44 years. She also worked as an election official for Ozark County, she made pies, fried pies, and took care of everyone. She loved quilting and helping the volunteer fire department. She especially loved cooking for the fishermen at her husband’s guide service many years ago. Irene was a member of the Dawt Church of Christ.
She is survived by son Ivan Corp of Grain Valley, MO; daughter Cecelia (Jack) Stone of Clarkridge, AR; grandchildren Susan Corp of Indepedence, MO, Chris Corp of Blue Springs, MO, Cathy (Scott) Trauvenich of Shawnee, KS, Vickie (Theron) Oxley of Almartha, MO, Terry Stone of Mtn Home, AR, Tina (Bruce) Trogdon of Bruno, AR, Rick Hunt of Wichita, KS; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Other survivors include special friends of Jerry Corp who became family to Irene: Terry Wyrick, Jerry Feldman, Ronnie Battles and Stan White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant son Larry Corp, son Jerry Corp (Vietnam), one daughter Joyce Hunt; son-in-law Charles E. Cameron, son-in-law Don Hunt; daughter-in-law Janice Corp; and one grandson Jeff Cameron; and four siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Officiating will be Wayne Stewart. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Sallee Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 N Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757 or to the Sallee Cemetery.
