Irish Downey, 73 years, 11 months, 2 days old, passed away on January 9, 2023 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare in Ava.
Irish was born February 7, 1949 in Compton, CA to M.H. (Doon) and La Vina R. (Wiley) Downey.
He had been a truck driver.
Irish and Lillian Crystel Dolen were united in marriage and they were blessed with two children, Tara Renee and Shane Michael. He later married Billie (Smith) Hill and she passed away in 2008.
Irish was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Billie and his brother Jack J. Downey of California.
He is survived by his children; Tara Renee Phinney of Arizona and Shane Michael Downey of Nevada; stepson, David Glenn Phinney of Alabama; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his sister, Helen L. Downey of Arizona; former wife, Lillian M. (Crystel) Dolen of Nevada; two nieces and three nephews; step children; several step grand and step great grandchildren and friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Heart of the Ozarks for their kind and professional care.
Cremation services for Irish are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
