Jack graduated from Ava High School in 1961. On April 27, 1962, he married the love of his life Patsy “Pat” Pickens. They were one of the first couples married in the new First Southern Baptist Church of Ava, Missouri, where his wife, daughter, and grandson’s family still worship.

Pat and Jack were blessed with one daughter Kelly.

Jack served four years in the United States Air Force and received his pilot’s license. He had an opportunity to fly commercial jets but decided to move his family back to Missouri making Ava their home for 58 years.

Jack drove a semi-truck for more than 50 years without an accident. He made many lifelong friends as he traveled across the nation with Dean Ridenour, Satha Kilgore, Gene Strong, George Jones, Dude Strong, Mike Alexander, Randy Cantrell, Mark Brown, Dave Lindsey, and Justin Blades.

Pat joined Jack on the road after Kelly graduated high school. Together they enjoyed their red dachshund’s, cruising the Caribbean, and their classic cars. They loved family get togethers, especially at the lake with all Jack’s family aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. But his greatest joy was watching his grandsons grow into wonderful men with beautiful wives and giving him fantastic, great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Reba Hutchison, his infant brother, Jerry Dean, his sister, Judy Kent, and his cousin, Joanna Wood.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Pat, daughter Kelly and Mike Timpe, grandsons, Dirk and Suzanne (Grant, Ryeker, and Esme), CJ and Shakiya (Kaymen) Timpe; Fred Bacorn (Connie), who was more of a brother than a cousin; also, several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
