Darrell Lee Brawley, 83, of Mountain View, Missouri, was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on May 23, 1943, to Dorris and Inez (Revelle) Brawley, and passed away on November 3, 2026, at Rock Point Nursing Center, Birch Tree, Missouri.

He grew up in Pekin, Illinois, then moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where his dad worked, and he learned the welding trade at a tool-and-die company. He later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he started his own business making hydraulic machines for 25 years. Darrell moved back to take care of his aging parents, and after they passed away, he met and married Geneva Berry in January 2006. He then worked for Cross Country Pipeline Construction as an inspector until he was involved in a wreck in 2007. The accident left him badly injured, causing him to be unable to work. He gradually got worse from the damage done to his body and suffered from short-term memory loss, so he had to be moved to Rock Point Nursing Center in Birch Tree, Missouri.

Darrell accepted the Lord as his Savior in 2020 and was baptized at the Church of God of Prophecy in Winona, Missouri. He continued to go to church with Geneva until his health got worse and he was admitted to the nursing home. He then continued to do devotions and singing with Geneva weekly.

Darrell was born the oldest of six siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorris and Inez Brawley; two sons, Ken and Dennis Brawley; his brother, Ronnie Brawley I; his sister, Cheryl Brawley; and brother-in-law, Bill Gates.

Survivors include his caretaker, Geneva Brawley; his son, Doug Brawley; two daughters, Jeanne McNabb and Vicki (John) Sampson; two sisters, Carol Gates of Nixa, MO, and Beverly Kolman of Waterloo, IL; his brother, Bob (Becca) Brawley of Canton, GA; sister-in-law, Sandy Brawley of Imperial, MO; five grandchildren, Rachell (James) Buttvick, Angelina Chaney (Kale Meyer), Jeff (Jess) Reibling, Kimberly (Jerry) Gianopulos, Karen (John) King; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha, James, Wyatt, Jameson, Justus, Lucca, Pia, and Cecilia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Rock Point Nursing Center and Three Rivers Hospice for the extra care and love that was given to Darrell during his stay.
