Jeffrey Philip Dixon

Jeffrey Philip Dixon, 56, of Winona, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on June 13, 1964 in Mountain View, Missouri, the son of Willie B. and Peggy A. (Hale) Dixon.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Dixon; paternal grandparents, Bill Dixon and Lizzie Dillard; maternal grandparents, Bob and Maude Hale; and niece, Jessica Voyles.

Those he leaves behind are his wife of 31 years, Veronica; son, McCade Thomas Dixon of Winona, MO; two daughters, Macie Aubrielle Dixon of Winona, MO and Morgan Ellise Rhea and husband, Jake, of Ellington, MO; grandson, Owen Ridge Rhea of Ellington, MO; mother, Peggy Dixon of Winona, MO; and three sisters, Cheryl Dillard and husband, Roger, of Eminence, MO, Lynn Voyles and husband, Gordon, of Winona, MO, and Brenda Rundel of Festus, MO; nephew, Michael Voyles and Cindy West of Winona, MO; four nieces, Becky Craig and husband, Jeremy, of Vacaville, CA, Lori Miller and husband, Gabe, of Ozark, MO, Deanna Hohman and husband, Steve, of St. Louis, MO, and Delaney Hicks of Winona, MO; and a sister-in-law, Valerie Voyles of Winona, MO.

When Jeff was born, his family thought he was the finest thing ever created, and we all still do. Jeff enjoyed watching his kids participate in sports, going camping, boating on the Current river, fishing, hunting and all things his grandson Owen did. He was one of the hardest working guys you would ever meet. He would drop everything to help family and friends and if you asked him to fix or build something, he may grumble, but it would be done by morning. There was literally nothing he couldn’t fix. There will never be another son, brother, daddy, husband, Poppi, Henry, J.D., or Jethro like him. The world is a better place because he was in it and he will be greatly missed by anyone who ever knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Assembly of God Church in Winona, Missouri with Pastor Steve Voyles officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Winona, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winona R-3 Athletic Dept. either by mail, Superintendent Winona R-III School, PO Box 248, Winona, MO 65588 or dropped at the Superintendent’s Office.
