Chris was born December 8, 1949, in Chicago, IL, to John Hiram and Sally (Bodlovich) Tharp.

Chris spent his early years in Tulsa, OK where he met his wife, who survives him. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa. Even though the Vietnam war was raging, he was not drafted.

In the early 1970’s, the Tharp family moved to Douglas County, MO. On March 15, 1975, Chris and Carol Hansen were united in marriage in Tulsa, OK, and they had no children. They enjoyed their piece of Ozarks paradise in Sweden Holler all these years.

Chris was a physical guy. He had a multitude of talents. His initial trade was automotive mechanic. For many years he handcrafted jewelry; marketing at art and craft shows in the four state area. He also had a hand in many home improvement projects here in the county-as well as building a two story log home.

Chris loved to create and relate a good story. He is and will be missed by more people than he could imagine. R.I.P.

Cremation services for Chris are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. His wishes were to be cremated and there are no services planned at this time.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Heart of the Hills Food Harvest, or your favorite charity.
