John Robert LaPointe of Birch Tree, Missouri, was born on August 14, 1953, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Alfred Royal and Kathleen Marie (LeClair) LaPointe. He passed away on October 9, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri at the age of 68 years.
He was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo “Becky” McDowell on August 28, 1983, in Cabool, Missouri.
John is survived by four siblings, Alfred P. LaPointe and wife, Diana, Carol J. Borey, Helen M. Scipione, and Susan J. McIntyre and husband, Michael; numerous nieces and nephews; and two very special people, who were not related by blood, but by unending thoughts and love, Chelsea and Cody Arnold.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Becky LaPointe, and his parents, Alfred and Kathleen LaPointe.
John obtained his GED and was an auto mechanic for most of his life. He was the sweetest and most caring person who would help anyone and everyone out in a heartbeat.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri with pastor Eric Tripp officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com
