Lawrence Earl “Larry” Kelly, 91-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life on June 12, 2024, at Current River Nursing Center. He was born March 27, 1933, to the late Lawrence and Doris Kelly.
Larry worked in the timber and drove the school bus for the Lone Star and Doniphan School Districts for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on Current River. He was of the Baptist Faith.
On Oct 4, 1952, he was married to Ada Goss in Pocahontas, AR. She preceded him in death on March 10, 1982. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry, and a brother, Bob.
Surviving are his children, Nancy (Boyd) Allen, Jim (Sharon) Kelly, and Benny (Kally) Kelly, all of Doniphan; sister, Kathryn Dunn; and brothers, Dan (Mary) Kelly and Gary (Dawn) Kelly, all of Doniphan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Julie Goans, Susan Haven, Michael Kelly, Kaci Ruff, Benny Kelly, Josh Kelly, Mindy Elliott, Jami Decker, and Brandy Cunningham; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren and four on the way.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, beginning at 10:30 a.m., also in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, and Brother Jim Kelly will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Dalton Cobb, Parker McLeod, Jordan Elliott, Mic Kelly, Wyatt Kelly, and Wade Kelly. Alternate pallbearers are Waylon Kelly and Ben Kelly.
