Lindal Herbert Gaines was born January 21, 1964, in Salem, AR, to Herb and Eva Hubbard Gaines. He was united in marriage to Laura Sue Collins Gaines. They were married 36 years and to this union was born their son, Mason. He departed this life on November 18, 2022, in Mammoth Spring, AR.
Lindal was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Major and Marie Hubbard and Herbert and Marie Gaines.
He is survived by his wife, Laura, of the home, one son, Mason, Mammoth Spring, AR, his mother-in-law, Janice Linson Collins, Thayer, MO, one father-in-law, Walter W. Collins, Warrenton, MO, three brothers, Terry (Lisa), Mammoth Spring, Paul (Lanae), Mammoth Spring, Keith, Dallas, TX, one sister, Peggy Stanley (Mike), Highland, AR, four sisters-in-law, Janice Ann Collins, Forest Park, IL, Lisa Stewart, Portia, AR, and Pam (Sam), Mammoth Spring, AR, Sueann Robinson, Warrenton, MO, and two special brothers-in-law, Mike Stanley and Sam Savage, a host of other relatives and nephews, nieces, other family and friends, and especially the guys from “the shop” Sportsman’s Edge.
A 1982 graduate of Mammoth Spring High School, Lindal owned and operated Sportsman’s Edge in Ash Flat, AR for 22 years. He was an avid sportsman and took great pride in teaching Mason and his nephews to hunt also. He was a long-term member of the NWTF, enjoyed rabbit hunting with his dogs, bow and rifle hunting, and he loved to fish. Lindal was a die-hard Razorback fan, and you could count on game nights, that he was with fellow Hog fans rooting on the team. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lindal was a member of First Baptist Church Mammoth Spring and made his reservation in heaven just over a year ago.
Lindal loved his wife with all his heart. Mason was the light in his eye and also one of his best friends. He loved his family fiercely and wanted to see them each succeed. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.
