Lois Fern Green

Lois Fern (Peace) Green was born May 6, 1939, in Alton, MO to Rollie and Lois (Crews) Peace and passed away December 5, 2023 in Thayer, MO.

She was united in marriage to Arthur (Sonny) Green on November 30, 1957, and to this union two sons were born, Arthur Owen JR and Rolla Gene.

She is survived by one son Rolla Gene Green and wife Laura of Eminence, MO, four grandchildren, Joseph Green and wife Rachel of Rolla, MO, Ethan Green of St Louis, Melissa Green of St Louis and Kelsey Johnson of Fordland, MO, two great-grandchildren Grant Green of Rolla and Olivia Johnson of Springfield, MO, sister Glenna Carpenter of Couch, MO and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, son Athur JR, parents Rollie and Lois Peace, brother Benjamin, four sisters, Ruth Stine, Jeannie Rice, Teresa Dyer and Pauline Landress.

While living in Eminence, MO Fern worked at the Angelica Factory and then for Boyd’s store, then for Bales Store and for many years worked at the Cross-Country Trail Rides in the office. After Arthur JR passed away and Arthur retired, they decided to move back home to where Fern Grew up in the Royal Oak community and built a log house she had always dreamed of, in the middle of a pine grove. It’s a peaceful place where most of their relatives are not far from them. After Arthur died in 2016 Fern enjoyed working at the Alton Senior Citizens Center, donating her time to help prepare lunches. She truly enjoyed meeting people and helping the community. She enjoyed collecting Coke stuff and going to Branson music shows with her sisters. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Huddleston Cemetery with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
