Lynda Joann (McConnell) York, daughter of the late Dalton Thomas and Freda Laverne (Freeman) McConnell, was born April 21, 1947, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away February 15, 2020, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri.  She was 72 years young.

Lynda grew up in Missouri, Illinois, and California.  Lynda and her family returned to Mountain Grove in 1985.  She spent most of her life being a homemaker for her family.

Lynda greatly enjoyed being around people and visiting with friends.  She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face and a joke on her lips.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed fishing, collecting porcelain Native Americans, decorative butterflies, and working and maintaining her rose garden.  She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Besides her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her daughter, Danica McKinsey, and her great-grandson, Noah King.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynnette Clark and her husband, Chris, her son, Vance McKinsey and his wife, Kim, grandchildren, Joe and Jeff Clark, Nicole, Stephanie, Hunter, and Logan McKinsey, Mitchell and Brittney Campbell, Amber and Ashley McKinsey, sixteen great-grandchildren, siblings, Joyce Baker, Brenda Jones, Dale McConnell, Daryl McConnell, Dennis McConnell, and James McConnell, and many other relatives and friends.
