Margaret “Margie” Christine Jenkins

Margaret Christine Jenkins, 94 years, 28 days old, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at Copper Rock Village Nursing Home in Rogersville, MO, with her family by her side.

Margie was born November 26, 1930, in Taskee Station, MO, to William and Tilda (McCane) Moore. 

 

Margie grew up in the hills of Wayne County near Poplar Bluff.     

 

In 1969, Margie and Norman Jenkins were united in marriage in Poplar Bluff, MO. 

 

Margie took pride in her hard work. She started working at 14 years old to help provide for her family. She worked as a waitress, seamstress, housekeeper, homemaker, owner and operator of the Jenkins Store at Goodhope. She enjoyed farming, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, playing games, and her favorite joy was loving on her family. Margie was a Christian. Margie lived a life that showed the love of Jesus.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Earl Victor Gilham; her siblings, Katherine Parker, Georgia Young, Emma Stovall, Marlene Clay, and Sharon Hafford.   

 

Margie is survived by her children and their spouses, Tim and Kelly Jenkins, and Debbie and Tony Greer; grandchildren, Eric, Kimberly, Cameron, Matthew, Logan, Katelyn, Kylie, and Hadley; 18 great grandchildren; her siblings, Melba Amarine, Joyce Labrier, Larry Moore, and Gary Moore;  several nieces and  nephews; other relatives and many friends. 

          

Cremation services for Margie are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.  The family will have a celebration of life service at Goodhope Church of the Nazarene on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Cheryl Beason.
