A Celebration of Life Service for Marshall Ray Miller, Age 81 of Thayer, Missouri will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at The Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, Missouri.
Marshall Ray Miller was born on April 12, 1945, in Emporia, Kansas, and passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Marshall lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, generosity, and unwavering faith. Marshall was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, George and Ruby Miller, and his grandparents. While his family mourns his passing, they find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with loved ones who had gone before him. On August 16, 1966, Marshall married the love of his life, Irma Lynnette Hopper, in Americus, Kansas. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, sharing nearly 60 years of marriage and countless cherished memories.
Marshall was a farmer, a heavy equipment mechanic, and a businessman whose work ethic was second to none. In 1993, he founded Miller Equipment alongside children building a business founded on honesty, skill, and a commitment to serving others. Through Miller Equipment, Marshall earned the respect and trust of countless customers, friends, and neighbors. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a hand, fix what was broken, or show up when someone was in need. To know Marshall was to know a man whose word meant something and whose actions spoke louder than words. He loved animals, treasured his family, and found great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and example.
Marshall is survived by his beloved wife, Irma Lynnette Miller (Hopper) of the home. His five children, Scott Miller and wife Donna, Matthew Miller and wife Sherry, Marsha Earls and husband Marlon, Sheila McGrew and husband Allen, and Mark Miller. Two sisters, Linda Mann and husband Glenn. Marshall was a proud grandfather to Destra Jackson, Darby Hodges, Deshae Miller, Dailee Howell, Nickolas Williams, Marissa Miller, Jordan Miller, Jasmine Hatten, Malori Thompson, Kristen Earls, Alayna Earls, Elisha Boch, Jessica Forester, Hannah Anderson, and Meshila Martin. Marshall was also blessed with 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom survive him and brought tremendous joy to his life.
Marshall’s family will remember him as a hardworking provider, a loving husband and father, a proud grandfather, a devoted brother, and a faithful friend. His strength, generosity, and dedication to those he loved will never be forgotten.
