Mary Darlene Davis, 82 years, 1 month, passed peacefully on December 23, 2024, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO, with her family by her side.
Darlene was born November 23, 1942 in Blanche, MO, to Floyd and Edith (Riley) Rackley.
On February 28, 1960, Darlene and Bill Davis were united in marriage in Ava, MO, at Bill’s father’s house by the Rev. Oscar Cunningham. Together they were blessed with two children, Mike and Tammy.
Darlene and Bill owned and operated three grocery stores. After selling the stores, they worked full time operating their beef farm in Ava. She enjoyed cooking, painting, sewing, gardening, and flowers. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Frank Rackley.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Bill; her children and their spouses, Mike and Donna Davis, and Tammy and Carey Cook; grandchildren and their spouses, Miranda and Andy Kano, Casey and Evan Bovee, Scott and Amanda Cook, Zachary and Hanna Cook, and Scott Erin Cook; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Rhonda Turnbull; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Darlene will be Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO, with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Family requests memorials to the donor’s choice of charity.
