Michael “Butch” Ernest Spacek was born April 5, 1956 at Mountain View, Missouri to Mike and Peggy (Frauenfelder) Spacek. He passed away February 6, 2024 at his home in Summersville, Missouri at the age of 67.
Butch was united in marriage to the love of his life, Robin Helton on April 12, 1975 and they were blessed with 2 children, Amanda and Michael.
Butch grew up in the Pinecrest community. He attended Stallman School for his first 8 years moving on to Summersville High School. He played basketball all four years and went to state with his team.
He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where he played bass with the music team. He was a member of CMA Sons of Thunder and very involved in the prison ministry. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his fellow brothers.
Butch enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He liked spending time talking on his radios with Steve Steelman. He enjoyed trips to Colorado with his “brothers,” Dale, Mike and Roger Tune. He also loved going to eat lunch at the Senior Center. He also enjoyed going to Chad and Whitney’s seeing Bryson and Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Peggy Spacek; Pop and Granny Frauenfelder; brother-in-law, Gary Armfield; Sisters-in-law, Missi Plowman and Joyce Peifer and a host of aunts and uncles.
Butch is survived by his wife Robin and son Michael of Summersville, daughter, Amanda (Cary) of Centertown, Missouri; sisters, Sandy Armfield of Belleville, Illinois, Fran Craig and husband Larry of Wichita, Kansas; father and mother-in-law, Andy and Jean Helton of Summersville; sisters-in-law, Sherry (Donnie) Rosenbum, Brenda (Uncle Tom) Duncan all of Summersville and Shawna Helton of Pittsfield, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Kevin (Karen) Helton, Donald Peifer and Steve Plowman all of Summersville as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
