Monte Housley, son of the late Thomas Argle and Florence Jane (Helsley) Housley, was born July 30, 1942, in Owens, Missouri. He went to his home in Heaven on August 25, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 82.
Monte grew up in the Owens community and graduated with the Mountain Grove High School class of 1959. He was united in marriage to Diana Blanton in 1961. Two children were born to this union, Sonya and Wes. Later in life, Monte was united in marriage to Sandra Yarber, and gained four bonus children, Wesley, Annette, Loretta, and Anthony.
Following high school, Monte began working at the creamery in Cabool, Missouri. He then worked for a time with Colonial Bread Company and later began a career with Show-Me Power Electric Cooperative, working there for over 30 years, eventually becoming Line Foreman. In his spare time, Monte enjoyed playing golf and going hunting and fishing. His most treasured time was that spent with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who leaves a great legacy of family to follow in his footsteps.
Monte loved Jesus and was saved and baptized. He was a long-time member of Rock Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. His ornery yet kind spirit was unmatchable, providing countless smiles, laughs, and memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. Monte is now worshiping at the feet of Jesus and will be waiting to see his family and friends on that glad reunion day.
Besides his parents, Monte was preceded in death by one son, Wes Crisp, one granddaughter, Tressa Ratterree, one brother, Shelby Housley, and one sister-in-law, Virginia Housley.
