Muriel Evelyn Hostetter

 

Muriel E. Hostetter, a resident of West Plains, passed away peacefully at the West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains, MO on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was born on March 14, 1924, in Lincoln CO, Colorado to Bertha and Marion Luke and was 100 years old.

From a family of 10 siblings in Colorado, Muriel has survived all but two, Ruth and Esther. Muriel was a long-time resident of Willow Springs. She married Gale Specht in Colorado and moved to Willow Springs, to raise cattle. Her daughter, Linda, resides in Mountain Grove, MO. Due to Wallace, her first husband’s tenure in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, she and her children became world travelers, in Europe and the Orient. She always loved to travel for new experiences, primarily in Canada, Germany, and France.

Muriel is survived by her children, Linda, Steve, Carl, and Scott; granddaughters, Stacey and Nerisa; and grandsons, Christopher and Amos. Additionally, she enjoyed becoming a great grandmother of four.

A graveside funeral service for Muriel will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Howell Memorial Park in Pomona, MO with Pastor Scott Williamson officiating.
