Norma Louise Jones, 92 years, of Gainesville, MO, passed peacefully on March 18, 2025 in her own home with her family around her.
Norma was born to Willard B. Reynolds and Edith M. (Owens) Reynolds on March 8, 1933 in a little white house that sat at the corner of the current 605 and 160 hwy. She lived the majority of her life on County Rd. 605. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Hervel Dean Jones on Nov. 2, 1951. Norma worked several years at Boeing in Wichita, KS, then the Ozark County Times in Gainesville, Mo. She was active in the planning of the first Hootin & Hollarin, the design of the first float and rode on that float in the parade. In 1967 Dean & Norma moved to Mt. Vernon, MO where they owned and operated the Western Auto Store for many years. In 1992 she moved back to her beloved family farm in Ozark County where she remained until her passing. She loved to do interior decorating, needlepoint, gardening and was famous for her cobblers.
She was ready to reunite with her loved ones. Preceding her in death was her parents; Willard & Edith Reynolds; her grandson Jacob Hagan; her husband Hervel Dean Jones and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her children Marti Jones & Marsha Jones; her sisters Joella Jarman and Bobbie Immell; her grand-children Charlie Jones & wife Heather; Ben Hagan and wife Jenae and her only grand-daughter Rachel Hagan. She is also survived by her 5 great- grand-children whom she loved dearly; Gabby, Mason, Bo, Jacob & Owen. She will be dearly missed by her entire family and numerous friends.
A memorial service for Norma Louise Jones, of Ozark County, MO, will be held on Friday March 21, 2025 at the Gainesville Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM followed by the memorial service at 1:00 PM. Following the service, she will be interned at the Centerpoint Cemetery next to her husband of 63 years.
