Norma Virginia Cook, 93 years, 4 months, 4 days old, passed peacefully on October 29, 2024 at her home with her grandson, Michael Wesley Johnson by her side.
Norma was born June 25, 1931 in Ava, MO to Harve and Edith (Potter) Heatherly.
Norma had been co-owner of Dobson’s Dry Cleaning and Alternations in Independence, MO for several years. She returned to the Ava community in 1985 to care for her parents. She was raised in the Star Chapel Church in Ava. Her hobbies were playing bingo and enjoyed reading, especially cook books.
Norma’s joy was being with her family and her grandkids!
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Otho, Harve Jr., Lois, Gerald, Velta, Harold, and Ruby.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Pamela Brayfield; her grandson, Michael Johnson and wife, Colleen; her great granddaughter, Kirsten Johnson; her other great grandchildren, Jacob and Zackery Booth; great great grandchildren, Devon and Brinley Booth; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Cremation services for Norma are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO per her wishes.
