Norman Edwin Mings, son of the late Calvin Dale and Anna Marie (Shields) Mings, was born March 26, 1949, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life September 5, 2022, at his home in Mountain Grove. He was 73 years, 5 months, and 10 months of age.
Norman grew up and attended school in Mountain Grove. He began working for the Brown Shoe Company and worked there for nearly 30 years. Norman enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for having good fish fry meals and being the “champ” at making hushpuppies.
Besides his parents, Norman was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Carl, Jackie, and Steven Mings.
Survivors include three sons, Calvin Mings of Mountain Grove, Norman Mings of Ava, Missouri, and Kevin Mings of Mountain Grove, two brothers, Mike Mings of Buhl, Idaho, and Rick Mings of Vanzant, Missouri, four sisters, Dixie Lowry of Grovespring, Missouri, Barbara Lott of Mountain Grove, Elaine Jacks of Cabool, Missouri, and Teresa Haskew of Hartville, Missouri, close friend and caregiver, Darlene Hohulin of Mountain Grove, nine grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him.
