Oma Lee (Vickers) Goodwin, 81, left this walk of life on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home in Mountain View, Missouri. She was born to James William, Sr. and Fannie Rebecca (Cain) Vickers on April 10, 1941, in Houston, Texas. She was united in marriage to Norman Goodwin on September 9, 1961.
Oma is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Goodwin; her parents, James and Fannie Vickers; siblings, Ruth Wileman, Pearl Powell, JW Vickers Jr., Fern Cole, Calvin Vickers, Franklin Vickers, and Lillie Elmore.
She is survived by step-sons, Frankie Goodwin (Debbie) of Splendora, TX, Allen Goodwin (Janice), of Kingwood, TX; sons, Dale Goodwin, of Splendora, TX, and Wesley Goodwin (Leophel) of Mountain View, MO; daughters, Teresa Goodwin-Swearingen (Steve) of Mountain View, MO and Betty Lou Baecker of Baytown, TX; 14 grandchildren, Clay, Jesse, Dusti, Derrick, James, Lesli, Haley, Lyndsay, Kacie, Sami, Jae, Angel, Cody, and Patrick; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Oma worked for Quality Inn Hotel in Humble, Texas, for twenty-five years in the hospitality department. She attended all twelve years of school in Leesville, Louisiana, and graduated in 1959. She was a member of Castor Baptist Church in Louisiana, then moved to Plum Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, Texas. Oma lived most of her life in Splendora, Texas, then spent her last three years in Mountain View, Missouri. She loved her family and helped anyone that she could. She was a hard worker all her life.
