Opal Schutz, 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 2, 2026, at West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains, Missouri.
Opal loved spending time outdoors, especially going to the river and camping. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and playing cards with her friends. An active and caring person, Opal deeply loved her family and friends and treasured the time she shared with them.
She is survived by her daughter, April Wilson and husband Jackie of Mountain View, Missouri; her sister, Penny Gutscher of Mountain View, Missouri; her brothers, Stanley McBride of Mountain View, Missouri, Thomas McBride of Arkansas, and Benny McBride of Mtn. View, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest-JR McBride and Edith McBride; her husband, Leonard Schutz; her sister, Clara Johnson; and her brother, Ernest McBride.
Graveside services will be held at Center Hill Church Cemetery south of Mountain View, Missouri, at a later date to be determined.
