Pearl May Johnson Stogsdill, 86 of Alton, MO went to her eternal home to be with her Savior on November 15, 2024, at her daughter’s home in West Plains, MO. She was born November 8, 1938, at Alton, MO to Clyde and Lottie (Parrot) Johnson. In 1956 she was married to Rev. George Johnson, who preceded her in death, February 1989. In 1990 she married Harold Dean Stogsdill who preceded her in death, March 2011. She had the companionship of Boyd Bates for the last ten years.
Pearl owned and operated a quilting business in Madison, IL for many years. She was been involved in church, politics and community activities. She loved singing, helping people, friends and family, and cooking (you never left her house hungry). She lived a good Christian life and is now rejoicing with the angels in heaven.
Pearl is survived by two children, daughter Rita Hall and husband Barry of West Plains, MO, son David Johnson and significant other Chris Webster of Hardin, IL, a step-daughter from 1st marriage Donna Simpson and husband Larry of Granit City, IL, 1 step-daughter from 2nd marriage that lived with them for a while, Frieda Rodgers and significant other Dennis Williamson of Alton, MO, step-children from 2nd marriage Dean Stogsdill of Alton, MO, June Corbin of Ethridge, TN, Janet Francisco of White Oak, TX, Alice Stogsdill of Spring Hill, TN, Jennifer Ballow of Poplar Bluff, MO, 24 step-grandchildren and many great grand-children.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three step-children from 1st marriage she helped raise Tommy Joe Johnson, Karen Harris and Kathy Duncan, a step-son from 2nd marriage Harold Gene Stogsdill, six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00pm Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with visitation noon-1:00pm. The burial will be in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
